Quality control in production – is a comprehensive system that includes dynamic weight control. This stage is ensured by special dynamic scales (checkweighers).

How is the dynamic weight control system in production organized?

Weight control of meat products on conveyor scales Checkweigher (checkweigher – dynamic control scales) ensures the weighing of products directly on the production line and based on the weighing results, they are either rejected or sorted according to a preset program into categories.

Since each unit of production is weighed, checkweighers allow real-time monitoring of the technological process: counting products, collecting statistics on the total weight, weight of rejected and acceptable products.

Based on the information received, the manufacturer can control the dosage and avoid both overweight and underweight of the product. This allows avoiding increased cost price and problems with regulatory authorities and consumer deception.

This process can often be fully automated by feedback from the checkweigher to the dosing device.

Applications of checkweighers (checkweigher)

Dynamic scales are used to solve a wide variety of tasks:

  • control of packages to detect under- and/or overweight;
  • control of completeness and detection of packages with missing components;
  • detection of underfill of boxes, bottles, packages, or cans in group packaging;
  • reducing product losses by adjusting dosing devices based on data received from the checkweigher;
  • sorting products into weight categories.

Industries where checkweighers are most in demand

The main industry where checkweighers are used is food production. Here, the equipment is subject to increased requirements for hygiene and protection against dust and moisture.

Products can be various: unpacked vegetables, plastic containers with fruits, boxes and crates, bottles.

The use of checkweighers is also relevant in the cosmetic and chemical industries, where the products often have a high cost. Here, every gram of overweight can significantly increase the unit cost.
